•September 11, 2020 • Leave a CommentThis year marks the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that killed more than 3,000 in the United States.
The official narrative says terrorists linked to al-Qaeda hijacked four planes and carried out the attacks.
It turned out that 15 of the 19 hijackers were of Saudi origin. However, the US used 9/11 as the justification to invade Afghanistan and later Iraq. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people have been killed in the so-called war on terror.
The US has spent over $6 trillion on the wars since 9/11. The incident was also used by Washington to curtail civil liberties at home.
Nineteen years later, there are still many unanswered questions about the incident: How did the World Trade Center towers collapse so quickly? How and why did the CIA and FBI ignore intelligence about a looming attack? How has the Saudi ruling family managed to escape any liability?
Independent investigators suggest a cover-up or, at the least complicity by insiders.
As yet another year passes on after the horrific 09/11, many more acts of terrorism continue to choke our society and it is only a question of wait and see when we shall jubilantly announce to the world that we are terrorism free in all our countries. But shall we ever do so?
We remember the 2,977 victims of the September 11 attacks. Every name is a story. They shall forever be in our hearts.
